If this past weekend was any indication of how the next year of my life is going to be, I couldn’t be more excited. This 4-day escapade could go down as one of the best weekends of my life. I have the greatest friends in the entire world, and my birthday weekend would not have been the same without ALL of you there. I got wayy too many sweets, lots of alcoholic beverages, birthday signs and plenty of love =] We took a ridiculous amount of pictures, for which I am greatful for, as I now can remember my 21st birthday forever…. and I can PROUDLY say, being the competitive person that I am, I finished my ENTIRE birthday sign!
Thursday I spent most of my day pampering and prepping for the nights activities. Headed down to ATL to hangout at my best friend Kara’s DUplex (AKA the DuDu). We eventually got ready and headed out to dinner at Front Page News, a fabulous restaurant in midtown, with my parents, Justine & Jen. Then we headed back to Kara’s to hangout before heading back downtown at Midnight! I turned 21 in a parking garage… eventful? Haha, then pretty sure we went to every bar in midtown (besides Opera-due to the $20 cover). Loved Flip Flops, just a fun environment that reminded me a lot of Daiquiri Deck in Siesta Key.
Friday I spent the day lounging in bed, attempting to nap, which never happened due to the abundance of interruptions… oh well, who needs sleep anyways? I opened up my birthday gifts from my parents before heading to Athens, and got some fabulous things. Some new Ray Ban sunglasses, since I have needed new sunglasses for almost 3 years now haha, then some perfume, wedges, 2 sweetish massages & a beautiful ruby & diamond ring that I need to get re-sized.
I made it into Athens around 5 p.m. and got ready for what would be a great night out. My best friends got into town around 830 and we all finished getting ready and headed downtown to eat at Taco Stand around 9. I got to wear the obnoxious 21st birthday sign, mine in the shape of a FishBowl for my last name being Fish. I was so happy that so many people could make it out for my birthday! As we all walked down to Buddah Bar to commence the night of bar hopping and sign-doing, Riley noticed that we looked like the “Verizon Network” since we had about 30-40 people with us. It was so great to feel so loved=], since I normally have pretty crappy birthdays since no one remembers and it’s the summer when everyone is gone. NOT this year. I love my friends. I had a great time doing all the ridiculous things on my sign, and can proudly say I did every single one of them! (of course I did, I’m too competitive not to). Some highlights from the night:
Saturday I felt surprisingly GREAT! I didn’t wake up til 12, which never happens… but I guess that’s what happens when you go to bed at 6.a.m or so. Haha. The day was spent laying out at the pool, then out for round 3, beginning with Happy Hour at Boars Head… only to find out Chandy wasn’t working. Super Sad. So we just hung out there, waited for Kara and Natalie to come into town then went out on the town again. Somehow I stayed out til 2 am again, but went home exhausted from the weekend and crashed.
Sunday was a day of sleep and recovery. Headed home around 2…and just played with Hope and hung out. Oh but my parents did make sure the second I got home I had to help wash my car and vacuum it. That’s when I knew it was back to the real world grind, and out of my little Athens bubble.
Overall, I could not have asked for a better weekend. I can not wait to see what this last year of college holds, and I plan to live it up to its fullest potential. I have two weeks left of my internship, and then finally I will be back in Athens for good the weekend before school starts. YAY FOR BEING 21!!!
