Surviving Midterm Stress

I’m sure you all agree that midterm week is one of the most stressful weeks of the year. I do not know how I am still alive and it is only Tuesday. My weekend was filled with studying and interviewing for summer internships. I took one of my hardest midterms yesterday that was 25% of my grade in my Advertising and Society class. I am so relieved that it is over and I feel like a huge weight is lifted off of my shoulders. Cramming for this test might have actually paid off. It’s my roommates 21st birthday tonight so we all celebrated at midnight, followed by dinner at Mellow Mushroom tonight and the traditional “sign” outing on Thursday. I only have to get through one more test-in BIO- on Thursday before I am home freeeeee and on spring break. Since my week has been so stressful I wanted to share 5 helpful tips in surviving a stressful week… especially since I tend to have a lot of those.

Tip 1- Eat Sweets- my go to for this time of the year is girl scout cookies– but really any sweet will do. Sweets always brighten your day and act as a reward for all the hard work you have done.

Tip 2- Take a 30 minute workout break. Go running, take a walk, do some sort of exercise to get the blood flowing.

Tip 3- Take time to eat. Even if it’s a bowl of mac & cheese. When you get stressed out you can forget to eat.

Tip 4- Look ahead to something fun you are doing when all of your exams are over. This way you have something pushing you through the week.

Tip 5- Remember it is just a test. It doesn’t determine your overall grade in the class or your future. Study, prepare, but do not beat yourself up. Smile be happy!

Hope these tips help & hope everyone is having a successful midterm week!! I know I am looking forward to spring break!
