>Jonathan McGinty- Northeast Georgia Sportsline

Local blogger, Johnathan McGinty said Monday he will launch later this week Northeast Georgia Sportsline, a high school sports news website for the Athens-Clarke County and Oconee County community.
The online service will cover sports at nine highschools: Clarke Central, Cedar Shoals, Oconee County, North Oconee County, Athens Academy, Athens Christian, Westminster Christian, Prince Avenue, and Monsignor Donovan.
McGinty said he will have a newspaper staff member from each of the nine high schools posting sports stories to the website.
In order to generate interest in the website, four printed magazine prep guides will be available for free distribution to the public beginning prior to each of the seasons.
These guides will include high school football in August, high school basketball in late November, high school spring sports in mid to late February, and an area golf guide in late March or early April that is not high school related.
McGinty’s currently operates a blog, Beyond the Trestle [www.beyondthetrestle.com] that contains local commentary and reporting.
“I call it commentary, coverage and context,” said McGinty.
Aggregate information with full crediting from the source is critiqued and debated with some postings offering comments from readers.
